I’m very tempted to get this. Songs From The Big Chair was the first tour I attended by any artist (though not at Massey Hall).
Can’t see it advertised for sale anywhere as yet. Are RSD releases sold online or are they only available in store? Physical shops should be opening up here by then but there isn’t anywhere very convenient to get to.

The first article says that a wider release is expected, so hopefully no extorting on eBay.

The first article says that a wider release is expected, so hopefully no extorting on eBay. I assume that a wider release would have different cover art or other differences, so scalpers will take a chance on collectors anyway. But I hope the music will be available in some easily obtainable form.

So, according to Steve Hammonds: - the LP is limited to RSD, the CD will be generally available - Mixing has been done by Richard Whittaker at FX, overseen and approved by Roland - The two missing songs: "The recordings in one case weren’t there and in the other were unusable so they were removed"

No one is mentioning The Way You Are, so I guess they didn’t play it on the tour. I must have been disappointed at the time but I don’t remember.
The erasure of the song by the band started early.

Yep, they quickly decided they didn't like it. There is one instance on setlist.fm of the song being performed in 1985 but I have my doubts. After all, the tour was famous for the band having to play the same set every night (due to the tapes playing the recorded sequences). They wouldn't sneak a song like that in just for fun, I reckon.

Hi everyone, my first post!
The two missing tracks are available on US Radio Shows if I'm not mistaken, so we can make up the full concert which will be good!

I'm sure there are recordings of the two songs from the tour, but probably not from Massey Hall / Toronto. So, a slightly different thing. But you're right, one could recreate the full setlist like that.

Thanks Jules!
I'll have to double check but I'm sure I've got them both from Massey Hall, but on different radio shows so the EQ will be different. One is from a Radio CD and the other from vinyl LPs.

I attended the show at Manchester Apollo. Not sure it was April 3rd (setlist.com says there was another date) but the programme I had only lists April 3rd. The programme also has interesting facts like the address of the caterers, the bands favourite colours (Roland’s is French Blue) and their favourite fetish (I’m not kidding but their answers clearly are).
They came on late and Roland joked it was because they had been watching Dallas. I remember they changed the ending of Pale Shelter to be an excerpt of the Dallas theme. It’s not on the recording in the video. so I would say the recording is either not from the Apollo show or I am misremembering.

For the record, that tour programme was reprinted as part of the Big Chair box set, so I have it. I guess since they played four nights at Massey Hall it's possible that the KBFH might have been recorded on another night (even the old vinyl wasn't all the same performances as the documentary - "Broken" is definitely not the same performance). Also interesting: Donyo's discography has a few releases which he credits to Manchester, but those do not include Pale Shelter!
