I've found at least one Toronto recording that DOES include "Change" but not "Pale Shelter"... but again, this doesn't sound like the same performance as on the box set.

I attended the show at Manchester Apollo. Not sure it was April 3rd (setlist.com says there was another date) but the programme I had only lists April 3rd. The programme also has interesting facts like the address of the caterers, the bands favourite colours (Roland’s is French Blue) and their favourite fetish (I’m not kidding but their answers clearly are). They came on late and Roland joked it was because they had been watching Dallas. I remember they changed the ending of Pale Shelter to be an excerpt of the Dallas theme. It’s not on the recording in the video. so I would say the recording is either not from the Apollo show or I am misremembering. This is getting more and more interesting! For the record, that tour programme was reprinted as part of the Big Chair box set, so I have it. I guess since they played four nights at Massey Hall it's possible that the KBFH might have been recorded on another night (even the old vinyl wasn't all the same performances as the documentary - "Broken" is definitely not the same performance). Also interesting: Donyo's discography has a few releases which he credits to Manchester, but those do not include Pale Shelter! The programme I have from the tour is not the same as the facsimile in the SDE. I think the SDE programme must be based on an update to the programme produced later in the tour. It has different photos and a different forward, amongst other things. The setlist page also missed Pale Shelter in many cases. It’s got to be a mistake.

I forgot all about that (haven't looked at the box in a while). The programme in the box was made for the second leg of the tour, which included two new musicians (Alan Griffiths and Josephine Wells). Anyway, here's a link to a download of the radio broadcast, which seems to be the video I linked to on the previous page. www.guitars101.com/threads/tears-for-fears-1985-05-31-toronto-ontario-canada-flac-fm.668085/#post-3171315

I managed to get a copy of the RSD release on vinyl from my nearest record shop that’s a few towns away. I was lucky as it was their last copy.
Was good to browse around. Didn’t get any more records but I did pick up some things from other shops. Hopefully, RSD has helped record shops and town centres everywhere.
Listening to the album now and enjoying it. For a tour that they have derided for having taped backing tracks, the songs are quite different to the original album versions.
The only misstep on the setlist for me is The Prisoner. I wish they had played The Way You Are or Watch Me Bleed instead. Shame Suffer the Children and Change had damaged tapes and couldn’t have been included on this album. I’d have been ok if they had versions of them from another date.
I see there are still a few copies to buy online, now the shops have closed. I’m sure they will be gone soon.

Were Change and Suffer the Children really the encores for Massey Hall? Very odd choice, if so.
From setlist.com, they reordered the songs a lot over the tour but not sure how reliable that is. I don’t see that particular combination as the encore.

Yes, from what they have said, it makes more sense that the setlist was the same every date. A lot of what is on setlist.com must be from people’s bad memories from decades ago. I could make something up for the date I was at (and dates I was not at).
So, I’m convinced they were the last songs. Odd choice for them at that point but they never liked to follow expectations.

It's not that different from the late 1983 setlist (In My Mind's Eye) really - Change as the last tune, and Suffer the Children close to the end, though not quite as late as 1985.

Makes sense for that tour but when you have huge new hits like Everybody and Shout, you’d think you’d save one or the other for the encore.

Getting into nitpick territory but when the tour started, EWTRTW was not a big hit yet www.officialcharts.com/search/singles/everybody-wants-to-rule-the-world/Setlists are a funny thing anyway. The last concert I saw before lockdown was Saga - and the first encore was "I'm Back", a song the band had only played a handful of times before, a song that's on none of their compilations, and a song that no "casual fan" would know. It went down an absolute storm though and has since become a regular earworm for me. (I moved the posts to this thread because it seemed to fit the topic better...)

The first article says that a wider release is expected, so hopefully no extorting on eBay. I assume that a wider release would have different cover art or other differences, so scalpers will take a chance on collectors anyway. But I hope the music will be available in some easily obtainable form. According to Steve Hammonds, the CD will be exactly the same as the RSD release!
