I find it interesting that the band made four songs with Charlton that were not used - the "bombastic" stuff - and that the album that was supposed to come out in 2016 had 12 tracks. Really curious if we're going to see/hear any of this in the future.

There’s bound to be a ‘repack’ of the album at some stage (possibly just before Christmas) to garner more sales. So, a few of the songs may appear then.
Was ‘I love you but I’m lost’ not one of the 12 or were the 12 selected after that Rule The World compilation?
Do we know if the three bonus tracks on the SDE edition are from the new sessions or could some be from the ‘Speed Dating’ phase or earlier?

As far as I know, both "I Love You But I'm Lost" and "Stay" were part of that 2016 album and picked out by Universal for the Rule the World compilation. The idea was that they were going to replace those two songs with others that didn't make the initial cut, at which point Curt said that he didn't like the album. Going by the songwriting credits, two of the bonus tracks ("Secret Location" and "Shame (Cry Heaven)") are from the speed dating era, and one ("Let It All Evolve", fittingly) isn't. tearsforfears.boards.net/thread/257/tipping-official-artwork-tracklisting-formatsOn a related note, I would've liked to have one or two alternate track orders for The Seeds of Love on the box set. There's so much space on the Blu-Ray... that way I wouldn't have to imagine how it might've sounded with Year of the Knife opening.

5 songs on the main album, 2 bonus tracks and “I love you but I’m lost” = 8 tracks out of the 12 original ones. Of those, I think only 6 are with the ‘Speed Dating’ writers (3 main album, 2 bonus and ‘I love you..’).
I guess some of the ‘bombastic’ Charlton songs could have been part of the 12 too but more likely they were more ‘Speed Dating’ ones.
Even without duplicating tracks, I think the SDEs could benefit from better running orders. I never go back to the extras.

Of those songs mentioned, ‘Up Above The World’ is the only one to not be released. The others he mentions are ‘getting singles’ but this one only has a ‘fantastic beat’. Perhaps we aren’t missing much.

Well, it was the obligatory "world" song...

Yes, it should be released for that reason alone. What were they thinking? Perhaps they are imposters pretending to be TFF.
Along with the new version of Broken they probably did.
