I don't know exactly what's going on but it seems that TFF are doing some PR again. Maybe a new tour or a live album?

It would be pretty weird if those three dates were the only thing under that heading. I hope they'll also have some new product they can promote with that, because otherwise it's entirely useless to me.

Favourite TFF Album: Songs from the Big Chair

Hi! I have found this note, where they apparently indicate the possibility of "there being something new" in those presentations themusicuniverse.com/tears-for-fears-to-play-exclusive-three-night-vegas-residency/?sfnsn=scwspwaIt doesn't really help me either... since I've been crossing my fingers for years that they'll come here to South America to play. Although I do celebrate that they are on tour, and I really enjoy watching videos that the fans upload on YouTube. And, like many other people surely, I am looking forward to the release of that album/live video that in theory was recorded by some presentations in which there were cameras and professional recording equipment, as well as that possibility mentioned by Roland of making an album with orchestral arrangements. I'm even quite curious to know which songs were cut from the final version of The Tiping Point If we think about it, they have a lot of material to offer. Best regards!

The plot thickens. According to a commenter who owns a record store, the release will have live material and four new tracks. It'll be available as a double CD, double black vinyl and double "cocoa cream" vinyl. And the official announcement will happen on September 12.

Listings are popping up now and we can see the (unfortunately AI-generated) cover. vintagevinyl.com/UPC/4988031671320"The new album from Tears For Fears, Songs For A Nervous Planet, features four new studio tracks plus live recordings of Tears For Fears on tour and at their best. The album features live performances of hit songs like “Shout”, “Head Over Heels”, “Everybody Wants To Rule The World”, “Mad World” & more. Spanning all eras of the band from The Hurting to The Tipping Point and beyond, this record takes you on the incomparable sonic journey that is a Tears For Fears live show and their career to date." Tracklisting: - Say Goodbye to Mum and Dad (new song)
- The Girl That I Call Home (new song)
- Emily Said (new song)
- Astronaut (new song)
- No Small Thing
- The Tipping Point
- Everybody Wants to Rule the World
- Secret World
- Sowing the Seeds of Love
- Long, Long, Long Time
- Break the Man
- My Demons
- Rivers of Mercy
- Mad World
- Suffer the Children
- Woman in Chains
- Badman's Song
- Pale Shelter
- Break It Down Again
- Head Over Heels
- Change
- Shout
- Landlocked [Exclusive Bonus Track - see post below]
The first four songs are new - tracks 2 and 3 sound both like something by Roland and actually new (not from the scrapped 2017 album), since the titles appear to refer to his wife Emily.
The rest of the album is the TTP tour setlist but without "End of Night" or the song that eventually replaced it, "Creep". So it looks like one of the last 2022 setlists, see for example this one: www.setlist.fm/setlist/tears-for-fears/2022/floors-castle-kelso-scotland-63b51617.htmlEdit: Madison Square Garden 2023 also had this setlist. www.setlist.fm/setlist/tears-for-fears/2023/madison-square-garden-new-york-ny-33a648b9.html

More information from Paul Sinclair at SDE. As I predicted, he has an exclusive offer: The album on a Blu-Ray Audio disc, with the whole album as a 24/48 stereo mix, as well as stereo, 5.1 and Dolby Atmos mixes from Steven Wilson. SW has also mixed instrumental versions of the four new studio tracks. As always, I'd prefer this disc as a third with the CDs, because it means I'll still need to get the CDs separately and the subject of shipping + import costs has been done to death already. But it's better that this exists than if it wouldn't. There will also be a film of the concert in Franklin, Tennessee, 2023. If you look at the setlists, that included End of Night so it's not clear if the audio will be the same. Probably not - the film isn't even called "Songs for a Nervous Planet" but "Tears for Fears Live: A Tipping Point Film". Whether we'll get the film on DVD or Blu-Ray is another matter but I'd assume it will happen in a few months... www.setlist.fm/setlist/tears-for-fears/2023/firstbank-amphitheater-franklin-tn-ba72532.htmlsuperdeluxeedition.com/news/tears-for-fears-songs-for-a-nervous-planet/
