I was listening to some music on Spotify and stumbled across... a brand new Roland Orzabal album! I still can't believe it. Had I seen it yesterday I would've thought it was an April Fool's joke.
The title's What Are You Chasing. A ten-title album.
I'm listening to it right now. The first pieces are jazz instrumentals, not exactly the kind of music I'm used to from Roland (altough I love jazz) so I wonder: is it original stuff by Roland or covers he made?

I got that in my release radar as well, but I'm skeptical. Why do four of the tracks have Italian titles? The record company "We Love Publishing" sounds odd. And the writing of all the tracks is credited to somebody named Robert Miller. It reminds me of how I was suddenly recommended electronic music by someone named "Steve Miller" who definitely wasn't the famous Steve Miller. Or how following Fish and Asia often puts hip-hop and techno into your release radar because there are other acts using those pseudonyms as well.
I haven't seen any of the fan accounts on Twitter talk about it either (I might ask them if they can inquire). So my guess is that, unfortunately, someone is just using his name here.
Edit: Also, while it's not bad piano jazz, there's a pretty weird sound to the production. As if the piano was somehow being processed through something, a kind of warble / non-constant reverb.

Yes I was puzzled by the name Robert Miller too. I tried to find more about him but failed miserably.

Andye from the TFF Fan Travel group replied to me:
"We were told it was a mere coincidence and that this amazing Jazz album had yet to have been claimed by the Good Sir. 🎤 🎶"
