When I first listened to the demo of Rhythm of Life I realised the lyrics weren't quite the same as in the version sung by Oleta Adams (or even those in the jam session version).
Here's my attempt. I put the parts I'm not quite sure of in italics:
Climbing every mountain, Always killing time, Count the cost as days go by, Monday I got Friday on my mind.
Why don’t we make love, Instead of making plans? Mother nature, father time, Baby, it’s the family of man.
(Oh-oh-oh) Babies cry when they hear that tune (Oh-oh-oh) They live and die in the heart of the moon (Oh-oh-oh)
And it’s the rhythm of life (The rhythm of life goes on) She’s got luck (The rhythm of life goes on) Lucy’s sign is the Chinese dragon (The rhythm of life goes on) Oh-oh-oh, she’s got luck (The rhythm of life goes on) The rhythm of life is the force of habit Yeah, the rhythm of life (The rhythm of life goes on)
Give the girl a future, Give her what she needs, Teach her life’s a long flat road, Maybe she’ll have better luck than me.
Life is short, baby ain’t that cool? It’s fighting tough for a couple of fools
And it’s the rhythm of life She’s got luck Lucy’s sign is the Chinese dragon Oh-oh-oh, my mind’s made up The rhythm of life is the force of habit Yeah, the rhythm
Oh, when out of sight is out of mind Shut your mouth, I’m doing fine Love is going back in time Love is going back in time
Rhythm of life goes on Rhythm of life goes on Rhythm of life goes on Rhythm of life goes on Rhythm of life goes on Rhythm of life goes on Rhythm of life goes on Rhythm of life goes on Rhythm of life goes on Rhythm of life goes on Rhythm of life goes on Rhythm of life goes on
Rhythm of life Rhythm of life
