Who knew they were fans of TFF? Here's their live arrangement of "Shout": I wouldn’t be surprised if Ryan Tedder was one of the people Roland (and maybe Curt) were song writing with for the new album before they decided the songs didn’t sound like TFF. So, perhaps that’s where the inspiration for his group’s cover of Shout came from.

Looking into this more, I may be wrong. There’s a song on Leona Lewis’s album from 2012 that Ryan Tedder co-wrote that samples Head Over Heals: I knew that Head over Heels was sampled in that song (although I never listened to it because Leona Lewis is, to put it lightly, not one of my favourite artists ), but I had no idea Tedder was involved with it. I've often felt that if any big successful bands of the last few years had some semblance to TFF, it would be Coldplay and OneRepublic, although I haven't liked any of OneRepublic's last few singles at all. But their earlier stuff did have a similar mixture of drama and catchiness.
