Sorting the songs we have heard so far (two of them will sound different on the album) by quality:
What am I expecting from the rest? Well...
"Long, Long, Long Time" - This has a title reminiscent of a Beatles song. Probably no coincidence. It's also by the ELAHE team, so I expect this to have some Beatles influences. If the intro of "Break the Man" is actually the ending of this, it'll probably be a quieter track, which makes sense coming after the one-two punch of "No Small Thing" and "The Tipping Point". The title also sounds like it's lampooning the band's slowness, so maybe this will be appropriately self-deprecating.
"My Demons" - We know this is the big, dark, in-your-face beat-heavy electronic number from the abandoned album. Expect something like "I Love You But I'm Lost" but less commercial.
"Rivers of Mercy" - Ever since I've read the title, and more so after seeing that it's six minutes long, I expected this to be the album's highlight. Steven Wilson singling it out as something as good as anything the band has ever done underlines this expectation.
"Master Plan" - No idea really. It's a Roland solo credit so that should be good.
"End of Night" - Ditto here, although I remember this title from 2016, so this'll sound relatively "modern" too, I suppose.
"Let It All Evolve" - I expect something organic sounding, maybe even rocky.
"Secret Location" - That sounds experimental. Jacknife Lee worked a lot with U2, Snow Patrol, and many others, and with so many writers I expect this to be a bit of a mish-mash of modern pop and rock that sounds too clever for its own good.
"Shame (Cry Heaven)" - There's not four but five writers on this one! What'll it sound like? Anthemic and overproduced, my guess.
Now it's everyone else's turn.
- No Small Thing (excellent)
- Please Be Happy (very good)
- The Tipping Point (good)
- Break the Man (above average)
- Stay (average)
