Another interview that I'll probably not get around to watching before the album is out... Thinking of all these interviews, I find it interesting that the songs, the meaning behind the songs, covers of their songs, and the 7 year path to the new album are the focus of most of their interviews. For other artists, you are often lucky for the songs to be discussed at all and topics are about the people as personalities/celebrities and their lives, the videos and memorable performances etc. Other topics you can hear about TFF are how they got together, how they split, how they got back together and their relationship now. I’m tired of hearing those stories but I understand it may be news to people who don’t inhabit forums like this.

I think they probably vet their interview partners and also explain beforehand that they would prefer to talk about the music. Curt has been pretty vocal about this when interviewed for the old SFTBC deluxe edition in 2005:
"It was weird - we always considered ourselves musicians first and foremost, so the kind of lightweight, lighthearted look at us, we never really appreciated. 'What's your favourite colour?' What's that got to do with our music?! We definitely found all that side of things really strange. Doing videos and promotions and talking to people and TV shows - it interferes with making music. It's a pain in the neck."

With the first interviews when Roland was so candid about the subject matter of Tipping Point, I was surprised. From this interview, it’s clear that Roland wants the subject of death to be talked about and not taboo. It’s a shame they don’t like doing videos and don’t see it as another way of being creative.
