As it’s album release season, I was hoping we’d hear something soon. I’m thinking single soon and album in November.
If we hadn’t heard anything, it would have been yet another twist and turn in the story of changing management, record labels, writing sessions etc.
I hope they talk about some of the major events of recent years in U.K. like the rise of popularism, child poverty, food banks etc. Musicians don’t seem to be doing that much.

I'd like that too but Roland once said the album isn't political. We'll see... Did he? It’s as if there is some force censoring all musicians. There is so much for them to talk about.

From the article linked in the Ivor Novello thread: The 66th edition of the awards also saw Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith of Tears for Fears, known for 1980s hits like "Shout" and "Everybody Wants to Rule the World", recognised in the outstanding song collection category. The duo are set to release their first album in 17 years in coming months.
"We've been never been able to describe any albums we've done," Smith told Reuters.
"All you can say is it's how we feel right now and what we feel like recording right now. It sounds like a Tears for Fears record."And from another source Roland Orzabal, from Tears for Fears - who were honoured with the award for outstanding song collection - said he can also see the benefits of the last 18 months.
"The pandemic itself has spawned a massive amount of creativity because we've all been locked up," he said. "We've been working on [the latest] album for seven years, but we finished it during lockdown because we had the space and felt the need, you know, so in that sense I think it'll have spurred more creativity.
"And also, I think during a pandemic, especially during lockdown, you realise what's kind of valuable to you and I think that will spur more songwriting and more creativity as well."
