Allen Stone:He started before the 7pm start time. It was just him on guitar. He was ok. Daryl Hall and John Oates:I'd never heard of them, or if I heard of anything by them before, I didn't know it was them. Unless I'm familiar with a band, I usually have a hard time getting into music I don't know. They had a many instrument sound. Some horns too. I also didn't know they were headlining until I got there. Tears For Fears:
They sounded great. I like how they develop their songs, almost every one seems well thought out and evolved. It was cool to hear them cover "Creep". "Memories Fade", "Change", "Pale Shelter", and "Closest Thing To Heaven" were other nice songs. And I liked "Everybody Loves A Happy Ending" live. I want to hear "Johnny Panic And The Bible Of Dreams", but apparently they've never played that live (at least not on setlist.fm). Hopefully they'll headline and play a full setlist in the future. Especially songs that they haven't played in a long time, as they have a good catalogue of stuff I'd want to hear. Pics:imgur.com/a/aP5mw/layout/gridAudio Recordings: Setlist:
1. Everybody Wants to Rule the World 2. Closest Thing to Heaven 3. Sowing the Seeds of Love 4. Advice for the Young at Heart 5. Everybody Loves a Happy Ending 6. Change 7. Mad World 8. Memories Fade 9. Creep (Radiohead cover) 10. Pale Shelter 11. Break It Down Again 12. Head Over Heels / Broken Encore: 13. Shout

Nice review! "Johnny Panic and the Bible of Dreams" was very much a studio creation (and Curt had nothing to do with it), so I doubt they'll ever play that. But there are many other b-sides such as "Always in the Past" or "Lord of Karma" (yeah, without Curt - probably won't happen) that I think could work well live.
A bit surprising that you never seem to have heard of Hall & Oates? I once read that they are the most successful duo of all time or something. Not one of my favourite bands but it's hard to escape songs like "Man-Eater" or "Kiss On My List" if you listen to radio stations that play pop and 80s stuff...

When I listen to music radio stations, it's rock, not pop. I will listen to those songs you mentioned another time and see if they seem familiar. Even when I have heard 80s pop, Hall & Oates just doesn't seem to be one of the more familiar names to me right now. Nice review! Don't they play some songs that Curt had nothing to do with, also? When I checked setlist.fm's history (after my show), I saw most setlists had 1 - 3 tracks combined from the "Elemental" and "Raoul and The Kings Of Spain" albums. Do you also think there's something specific about "Johnny Panic and the Bible of Dreams" that wouldn't work well live?

My perspective is also a little bit different.
I just got the albums a few months ago, so I have the versions with the bonus tracks.
So to me, for example, "The Way You Are" is a part of "The Hurting" album; "The Marauders" is a part of "Songs From The Big Chair"; "Always In The Past" and "Johnny Panic and the Bible of Dreams" are a part of "The Seeds Of Love", and "Pullin' A Cloud" is a part of "Everybody Loves A Happy Ending".
When I listen to the respective albums, I continue on through the bonus tracks.

I just can't see the thing working well live, but maybe using the "song" part in a medley (e.g. segueing into Shout, same key) would be an interesting idea. I also got to know the albums with the bonus tracks! But they're not part of the album for me. Simply because TFF almost always put a great END song to their records.

Yeah, that would be great, and make me happy to hear something like that live. I am usually not a fan of medleys, but as you said, it's the same key and I know they based it off of Shout, so it would probably work. I also got to know the albums with the bonus tracks! But they're not part of the album for me. Simply because TFF almost always put a great END song to their records. Hmm, I'll try to pay more attention to the official ending song on the albums. For me, I listen to music on my commute. So at the start, I go to the first track, press play, then I only periodically look for the next 50-70 minutes if I need to check the title for a particular song. The playlists I create are the albums directly. If an album has bonus tracks, then they're usually included (but I skip bonus tracks that are just alternate versions of the main tracks, for time reasons). For some albums in general (not TFF), I have an easier time remembering the official end song before the bonus tracks start. But for me, it didn't seem to be the case with TFF, so far. But I'll think about it more next time.
