I didn't intend this to be a RIP section, but there we go again... Jimmy Copley played drums on the "Seeds of Love" tour - you can see him in the "Going to California" video and the Knebworth clips. This was the only tour when TFF were playing their songs faster live than on record! I've seen Jimmy as part of Manfred Mann's Earth Band in 2012, and again (online livestream) in 2015 at what must have been one of his last performances with the band. There's an interview from 2008 where Manfred refers to a conversation with Mick Rogers where both point out how Jimmy joining the band has improved the band's playing. They said the band was finally on a similar level to the 70s when Chris Slade (now AC/DC) was their drummer. This is no small praise! R.I.P. Jimmy

Can you post a video of Copley playing live, whether with Tears For Fears, or with another band?

Sure - here's one with Manfred Mann's Earth Band where his drumming actually starts the song. And check out the Deep Purple quote with Jimmy doing his best Ian Paice impression!
And here's one of the tracks I may have posted elsewhere, but can't stop posting because it's so good. There are more videos from 1990 on YouTube...

Jimmy was famous in Japan as the drummer of Japanese Rock Guitarist "Char". R.I.P. Jimmy I wasn't aware either of Char nor of Jimmy's involvement, so that was interesting... the lyrics are hilariously bad but the music really smokes! This guy is good! Badass jazz rock. And of course Jimmy's drumming is great on this too... Also worth noting that Jimmy was one of two drummers on Curt's first solo album, the much maligned Soul on Board.
