It certainly appears that way to me. These days, people almost always say “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” when TFF are being mentioned. It's a fine song, but in reality it was one of many big hits, and probably not even their best single, at least in the opinion of this hard-core TFF fan. “Mad World” has become a classic but it’s being associated with Gary Jules and “Donnie Darko” far more often. “Shout” seems to have lost its appeal; perhaps it’s too long for these fast moving times? Ditto for “Sowing the Seeds of Love” (their best single IMO). “Pale Shelter”, “Change”, “Mothers Talk”, “Head over Heels”, “Woman in Chains”, “Advice for the Young at Heart” and “Break It Down Again” were all hit singles but I rarely hear them on the radio these days. And I'm not even talking about the album tracks, I mean “The Hurting”, “Memories Fade”, “The Working Hour”, “Badman’s Song”, “Swords and Knives” or “Year of the Knife” should be considered progressive album tracks that are worth being played on the radio alongside Pink Floyd or Genesis classics? All of that is ignoring the work Roland has done in the 90s and the reunion album.
