When I first listened to the album version of Mothers Talk I thought the lyrics were: "My features form with a change in the weather We can't... We can work it out"
which seemed to me to be initial, instinctive self-doubt superceeded by positivity and optimism and a call to collective action.
However, the official lyrics apparently are:
"My features form with a change in the weather Weekend We can work it out"
"Weekend" has always seemed extraneous and out of place to me. Then when listening to the US Remix, a later re-recording, Roland has clearly changed this line to, "We Can". This song has always been a favourite of mine, though apparently not one of Roland's. Is this subtle change an effort to perhaps alter a weaker line of the song and improve it's flow?
Any thoughts?

Maybe I'll have to ask Curt, although of course he didn't write it (and also doesn't seem to rate it).
