Thankfully no - I suspect James may be one though!
My collection is a mess consisting of some original vinyl, cassettes and CDs, some remastered CDs, the two excellent Super Deluxe reissues, a number of digital rarities in iTunes, and one hi res 96/24 version of SFTBC bought at Pono store last year!

For me, it's the (remastered) CDs and the two box sets. That's about it, as I suspect the few rarities I'm still missing will be filled in with the coming sets

My collection is a hodge-podge as well. Off the top of my head:
*The Hurting-2013 2CD deluxe version (I missed out on the deluxe box) *The Hurting-1999 remaster with 4 bonus tracks *SFTBC-Original "atomic" CD made in W. Germany *SFTBC-2014 Super Deluxe box set *SFTBC-the first 2CD deluxe edition from 2006 *SOL-1999 remaster with 4 bonus tracks *Elemental-Original US CD *Raoul-Cherry Red reissue with 7 bonus tracks *Saturnine, Martial and Lunatic-Original US CD *Everybody Loves a Happy Ending-French 2CD edition in slipcase, includes the two bonus tracks on Disc 1 plus a 5-track "Closest Thing to Heaven" remix single on Disc 2 *Secret World-French CD/DVD set with live tracks (an embarrassingly tepid performance, I'm sorry to say) and three studio tracks including "Floating Down the River," plus live DVD *Live in Santa Barbara 1989-semi-official UK CD with an edited concert from California *Shout: The Very Best of TFF-US compilation CD containing tracks through Elemental... this was probably my first TFF CD purchase *Tears Roll Down: Greatest Hits 82-92-UK 2CD reissue version with a bonus disc of remixes

The remix disc for ELAHE sounds interesting. Are the mixes any good? The bonus disc is a repackaging of this commercial single www.discogs.com/Tears-For-Fears-Closest-Thing-To-Heaven/release/494022 with the following tracks: 1.Closest Thing To Heaven (UK Radio Mix) 3:22 2 Closest Thing To Heaven (Brothers In Rhythm Group Therapy Remix) 8:15 3 Closest Thing To Heaven (Solasso Club Mix) 5:49 4 Closest Thing To Heaven (Brothers In Rhythm Group Therapy Dub) 8:15 5 Closest Thing To Heaven (Solasso Dub) 5:33 The UK Radio Mix is cool because it starts with a couple bars of piano before Roland's vocals kick in. Otherwise it's similar to the album version, but the new opening gives it a different feel. The Brothers in Rhythm and Solasso mixes are the kind of tedious modern remixes you would expect. In both cases, I think the vocals are actually sped up to accommodate the beats, so that Roland almost sounds like a chipmunk. My favorite is probably the Solasso Club Mix, because it doesn't drone on too long, and in addition to speeding up Roland's vox, it also adds some Autotune-like effects, so it's so over-the-top that you can't help but admire it just a little. It becomes a Hi-NRG disco stomper.

It was unsettling to see Brittany Murphy...

nic0312 That's a nice collection! Did you stop after 1985 or simply collected less? (From what I know, CD singles never really caught on like 7" and 12" issues...) One thing that's led to a lot of confusion among fans is the different mixes of Mothers Talk. I know that the green and clear 7" singles had the so-called 1st mix and the regular black one the "funk mix" (same as the LP just shorter). But what version is on the picture disc?

From listening to them both, seems to be a difference in the "depth" of some of the drum intro with the Picture Disc sounding much deeper and clearer, also has a slightly longer running time of 3m54s as opposed to the green vinyl at 3m47s. I don't actually have a copy of the album to compare with but it feels the same as the "single" version from the 12" DJ promo which I assume is the black vinyl mix. That probably hasn't cleared up the situation an awful lot, but hope it helps a little! In terms of post 85, thinking back I switched to buying CD's where I could, and my entire CD collection was taken in a burglary some years later. I can't honestly remember how much TFF stuff was in there, I'm guessing not a huge amount, there was never as much variety available in CD singles. That, combined with the increasing influence of girls shifted my focus away from collecting for a good few years!

Sorry for the spam. I don't know why this thread attracts all kind of nonsense! That probably hasn't cleared up the situation an awful lot, but hope it helps a little! You can listen to the versions online if you're not sure. The 1st mix (simply called single edit on the deluxe edition) is the video soundtrack of the 1st music video (the one with the girl and her teddy bear), whereas the Solsbury Hill band video has the regular (funk) mix. In terms of post 85, thinking back I switched to buying CD's where I could, and my entire CD collection was taken in a burglary some years later. Ouch! Well, at least you still have the vinyl.
